can I use dot 5 in my scootrs front brake ?
it says on the cp, only dot 3 or 4, why is that ? seals can't take it ?
or will it be ok ?
I've drained the system and cleaned everything out, and painted my caliper, so wanted to avoid any paint damaging when I fill the system and bleed it...

dot 5.1 is compatible with dot 4

dot 5 is silicone based, really need to clean out the system if changing over to dot 5, easier said than done

i,m sure that one of the advantages of DOT 5 is that its no good as a paint stripper ....unlike DOT 3/4........ :D

Why would you want to use DOT5, does your disc brake not Brake hard enough?
DOT5 is less compressable than DOT4 so your lever will need less squeezing to brake as hard, but will also lock up the front wheel easier...
