series 2 with the weight and areodynamics of a brieze block, with a light 16 stone rider on.
plus maybe on occasions an added passenger plus luggage...
your certainly going to need as much power as poss combined with gearing to suit you and your needs.

a heavy 15 stone, S1 with taffy 30mm phbh with filter -1mm deck clearance, widened exhaust port, matched cases, 6.5 CCR, AF flywheel, currently running 4.6, simetimes think 4.4 would be better but like the way it pulls up hills so havent changed itsoullad wrote:a very light 16 stone, and its going in a series 2.Bufficus wrote:How heavy is the rider?
Sean - it should give 22 - 23ish hp but designed for touring really so should give plenty of grunt.
4.6.....thats impressive David, you got a rev counter fitted? what revs max power etc and does pipe start limiting bout 7500ish revs?

hits 78mph all day and stops, so a bit under 7500rpm but that is fine by me, was thinking of trying a shorter front pipe I have but havent yet welded a egt boss on to it

13 stone, LI S3, TS1 225 straight out of the box, 30mm VHSH with yam reed block & boyesen reeds, AF flywheel, LI150 gearbox 17/46 giving 4.6 final ratio. IIRC Sticky's book suggests 4.5 - 4.7 for Taffy Mk4 pipes so 4.6 seems spot on.
Now yer just bragging.............ant wrote:13 stone
17 / 46 li150 box, 81 link chain, all sounds good to me. Gonna give it a whirl.
