Hi!
I have a brand new Rapido Race 225 cilinder, Mahle piston and an AF cylinder head. Im looking for a fast touring on my new project. I usually ride alone and want something that can pull easily 75 MPH all day. I was thinking to buy a JL3 touring exhaust and I´ve got a SX200 and a LI150 gearbox on the shed. What are the posibilities of this Rapido Race kit? Do I have to tune this cylinder to get what Im looking for? Im living in Spain and there no tuners over here, but I could send it to someone in the uk. I could sell the Rapido ang go for a Ts1 , not sure what to do. Any ideas wellcome.
RAPIDO RACE 225 SELL OR TUNE IT?
sell it and buy a ts1, had to thrash mine all the time and it didn't make for a pleasant ride, ts1 would be my choice.

RS Performance are in Madrid, those boys know their stuff.
One of them is a member on here but I can't remember the user name, it's either David or DavidRS I think.

No experience with the Race version but I have a 225 classic and love the way it performs, but I have had trouble with it this year, the rings snagged on the exhaust port and tire the top end apart- I understand this to be a factor of the use of an escorts piston and the fact that the ports are razor sharp out of the box.
I have replaced it with another rapido with a wiseco piston and I took the edges of the ports before fitting.
I am still running it in and am doing it by the book ( or the bit of paper that comes with it!) so I am hoping to get good service from it next year
I did get it on a dyno and it had just over 15bhp and the torque was around that figure too. It is a very torquey engine and pulls well through the gears and uphill.
