just looking on the following site to uprate my engine with a better crank so it can take an imola or similar, noticed they do http://www.sip-scootershop.com/EN/Produ ... +RACE.aspx

Looking for 58 x 107mm as i understood the imola doesn't perform as well with a longer rod?

there appears no visible difference between the two anyone have one of the black ones? would it be ok?

thanks

Silver one looks like it the full circle version.
Black MecEur cranks are very popular, check that it has big end shims (thrust washers) and I'm sure it'll be up to the job.

longer rod ..better for low down power maybe ,but perhaps say 2bhp down on power..compared to the shorter rod.....?

That's OK, genuine 80 mph was fast enough for me anyway. :P

sorry chaps, maybe i should have explained more........
but what we found out (to our detrement was) by using a longer con rod /set up.........on the racer
max power was compromised,by approx 2 BHP........
this was compensated by an increase in torque at lower revs, which would in the case of road scoots be a great improvement.....

You've been telling us for ages not to bother with figures, but on road performance. :P

But I'll still be bringing over the Imola for a dyno when I put the engine back in a scooter.
