Hi,

Can any one suggest a supplier who could provide a speedo drive and worm that works efficient for a reasonable amount of time?

Cheers,

MBD---as far as I know they are the only ones making them to original Italian specs, in metal rather than plastic.

OK, I have bitten the (speedo drive) bullet, change my view point (!) and am positive that this one (fourth in 4.5K miles) will actually work. I have decided to purchase a plastic one this time, however if it does not work its the last one I ever change it! :flaming:

I purchased one fro MBD about a month ago, after spending months trying to make a plastic one last more than a few miles!

Cost about £20ish with P&P.

Just call them to order!

Aren't there a pile of S1 front hubs sitting around because of the bad backing plate problem? Steal the speedo drives and remove the drive gear from the hub out of them, they're steel, just like the MB ones.....
