Ok cheers mate. All interesting stuff. I would say that an efficient engine, with a working pipe etc will demand a certain afr to keep it cool. And this setup should be dealt with in the carb. Raising or lowering compression ratios to keep the motor cool is fair enough but not really what we are looking for. The motor will have an optimum comp setting depending on squish,pipe and all the other factors and then we should be setting the carb to deliver the correct afr to work with it.
If the carb cant deliver I personally wouldnt be trying to compensate in the engine for it.
The flow gains for the mikuni are simply not worth all that agg.
