I've also had one on the road for 4 or 5 years, it's been very reliable and is very nice to ride. 30mm phbh, fran race, AF 5 speed and Kheper ignition. A good spread of power at the right place for touring.

Thanks ,
Did you "trench" the casing for crank clearance yourselves ?
Also do you have to have the flywheel balanced ?

Yes to trenching, it needed around 1mm taking out on my SIL cases.

No to flywheel balancing, I use a standard bgm flywheel and DC stator with kheper cdi, but would go vape if I need to change anything.

Also been running a GT240 for several years, bought the kit as soon as they came on the market. I built the engine for the Euro Lambretta rally in Adria Italy and set out with only 100 miles on it so took it steady ish on the way down (50-55mph) but it didnt miss a beat even when the air temp was close to 40degrees C. That trip put over 4k miles on it but due to a contaminated fuel tank (bought used off the internet) the bore and piston were shagged. Rebored locally and new piston supplied by Richard and all has been good and has propelled me all over the UK and to Soria in Spain and back. Apart from changing the reeds I literally havent touched it since. I recently did a tour of Scotland taking in parts of the NC500 and locking up 1400 miles so will strip it over winter and give it some maintenance but it is still running like a top. Mkine has a 30 phbh aand BGM 3 box exhaust and mid weight flywheel and BGM stator.
