Advice please

Hi
I am currently running in my RT195
Phbl 25 through airbox
Main 100
Aq268 Atomiser
D22 needle bottom clip
60 choke
53 idle
Running rich, seems to splutter when you get to your desired speed
Also running a Gori SS exhaust
Is this a revvy pipe?
I want good torque not speed
Any Information appreciated thx
Hohn

I know very little about that range of Dell'Orto, but I suspect that atomiser is too large.

With any engine, the atomiser needs to be JUST big enough to deliver fuel @ WOT. Any bigger & fine tuning of the carburettor goes out of the window as the gap between it & the needle increases.

Anybody unsure of atomiser size (presuming they have the right type!) should remove the main jet & if it revs out clean, then it is too small. That said, I would bet that half the country's Lambrettas fitted with PH range carbs have an atomiser fitted that is too big

You don't mention slide size. I hope it's about a 45, but that's a guess.

As for the rest, I don't know about that needle, but the pilot looks too big (try a 50) & the main too small. I'd try 125 to start & come down if needs be.

But you really should try a smaller atomiser IMHO & check the slide size to get them sorted as fundamentals because of their major influences through the range. :) You'd be wasting your time with the rest until you have done that.....

I’m running a similar set up but with a pod filter

Main 98
Pilot 50
Needle D22 3rd clip
Slide 40
BGM V2 exhaust

At 400’ ASL

Can’t comment on the exhaust you are running but your over all jetting is rich compared to mine and I’m not running through an air box. GPS 70mph max all day.

There's only one way to find out for certain ;)

As for the atomiser size, what I said still stands..... :P

apart from exhaust, i,m on a clubman v4, same set up as me except for your clip position, my needle clips in middle, could try dropping your needle down a notch to lean it off a bit and try

Have you looked through the carburettor jetting section for similar set ups?

Good luck.

The issue is the air box restricting airflow no? That’s a relatively big bore, carb, and exhaust. Correspondingly needs good airflow. I’d try a rubber elbow with a foam filter on it, removing the air box to make room. See how your jetting goes then.
