Hi,
What can cause a scooter to “run on” after you’ve shut the throttle? Takes a good few seconds for the refs to drop when the throttle is closed. Checked for air leaks and all sound. Thought it was the carb but stripped and cleaned. Struggling with this now.
Any ideas?
Cheers

Poor routing of the throttle cable, or cable is in need of lubrication.

Checked for air leaks, that was my first thought. Not cable I’ve done it manually at the carb.

Not checked the choke. - I’ll have a look. Thanks

Ok, is this something it’s always done? Or have you changed something and then it started doing it? Or is it something that’s recently developed seemingly all by itself?

If idle does return to normal, but takes too long to do so, I'd suspect the idle mixture is too weak.

Ok just tried to edit my last post but the stupid settings although allowing me to edit it but once I posted it. It doesn’t show, maybe something admin should look at? As i know it’s been brought up before.

Anyway was trying to say: Have you made sure your vent holes in the petrol cap are clear and that you’re filter on your fuel tap is clear and you’re getting a good fuel flow?
