A = Yes. My guzzi has a clutch cable as long as a Lammy's. I use STP - the thick gloopy stuff - and that stays in the cable a long time. Makes a huge difference all season long.

Bit of a bugger to get in there, a proper cable oiler is needed for this messy job. Anything thinner just fell out straight away.
Mineral oil will damage any nylon coating/sheathing, causing it to swell and make matters worse.
