TSR Evo Tail can support

Evening...

I just wondered if anyone out there has come up with a cunning tail can support for a TSR Evo that doesn’t rub the side panels on a S1/2? I have the ‘correct’ one and I’ve tried all sorts of bending, jiggling, spacing out the pope from the chain ask case support .... but I just can’t seem to get it in acceptable position.... bracket always wants to rub the paint off the panel..

It’d be fine without support but it’s a heavy assed tail can to just be hanging there on it’s own...

Any clever solutions out there?

Some guys change the end cans for a SIP one
& add an extra welded in fillet strengthener on the other side where stinger pipe is..
& do away with the rear bracket
If you contact Darryl Taylor he can advise you more about this

Thank you,

The tail can bracket is pretty ugly anyway, it would be nice to get rid of it! I’ll do as you suggest.

to put it mildly it's the sh*test design i've seen a 4 year old could of done better!! whoever designed it wants sacking it rubs my GP panel too.I have a Darrell end can on my other one but it has no rear bracket and has vibrated loose a couple of times until i made myself a thicker swan neck bracket as the EVO one is too thin.If you get a 5mm thick swan neck bracket made you can do away with the rear one then as it won't twist when you put the power on.Worth trying it i'm getting another one made so i can bin the rear one for my white GP although it's a bit late as the panel has a nice groove in it now from the friggin bracket.

I feel your pain.... maybe that’s the way forward. Incidentally, I contacted Darrel and he only sells the modified pipes complete which isn’t want I want as I have the pipe already. If I were going to fork out for a new pipe I would get something else, it may be a half decent pipe operationally but it’s a pain in the arse otherwise and pretty ugly and noisy, even though I’ve re-packed it. Think I would plump for a Ron Moss Clubman or a Gori if I had to drop the money on a new pipe. Can’t really justify the cost of a Fran Race.... although I wouldn’t mind knowing what silencers Darrel uses, it might be worth finding one as a temporary stop gap so I can get rid of the Thermos Flask it currently has on the end!

Darrell uses the gianelli ones expensive and yes loud but i like the one i have on my green Gp,you won't find a fran race currently as Andy Francis hasn't got any and looks like he hasn't for a while now, probably won't be able to get any franspeed exhausts tbh currently. The TSR has always been a bit fruity tbh although i hear Darrell is working on new stuff that should be interesting when he's done it.

I messaged Darrel but he only supplies the whole reworked exhaust which is fair enough but I don’t feel I need to fork out £260 just to improve what I already have. Different if I needed a new pipe anyway but I don’t really, just want to improve the fit of the one I have. Amazes me that manufacturers don’t put just that little bit of thought into how things are actually going to fit (or not), I appreciate there are are always going to be slight variations but large frame Lambrettas are really only S1/s2’s or s3’s/GP’s, how difficult can it be....
