5 min removal of bearing race from crankshaft

I put a brand new bearings in top end only to discover the crank was twisted. So I put the crank in the freezer for a day. Stood up crank in my vice. Ran around race with a small butane torch for 20 secs. Tapped the crack between race and crank with a fine chisel. Race moved. I repeated this 3 times, removing the race. I didn't have to use so much heat that it's hardness is compromised and will reuse it and it's bearing on the new crank. It was 5 mins of effort.
The chisel will leave marks in the crank. I could file them down if I wanted to try and fix it, but I'll just bin it.
Hope this helps someone.

Ive successfully removed stubborn tracks by welding an old hub bearing to the track and using my big puller to remove. However I recently did the welding trick but every time I tightened the puller it just broke bits off the track, tried 3 times but no cigar, in the end i had to resort to grinding it off.
One of my least favourite Lambretta jobs lol.

Do you mean on 3 different cranks or 3 times on the same crank?
I can't imagine how it wouldn't work unless you're not using it right. Not trying to be a smart arse, I just can't understand how it wouldn't work.

Same here, no problems on any crankshaft. I think if it had a longer bolt the same tool could be used on SX and GP cranks.
