Thinking of getting a Trail Tech CHT meter. Is it the 14mm. sensor ring size I need for a Lammy spark plug ? And is anyone running one on an Avanti kit? If so, how did you fit the sensor and where and did you gave to cut any cooling fins? Any photos would be very helpful.

I fitted mine under the cylinder head nut so that it wasn't affected by taking the plug in and out, but it read low. Ben at af suggested mounting same as avanti by drilling and tapping the head.Image

Mine is on a gt240 below the cylinder head nut furthest from the fan. The wire comes out of the spark plug hole in the cowling. For me the temp is a relative thing. Uphill against a wind in fourth at low revs I can see 170 plus degrees, in normal speedy riding it can be anything from 135 to 165. When it went to 195 in Spain I pulled in sharpish! All of my cowling screws had gone and the head cowl was held by the exhaust u bend and not doing it’s job. A great piece of kit.

Yes, you're right Fahrenheit would be cool, but when I had mine under the lower offside head bolt it only read about 75c or 167f!

Swapped mine from on top of plug (held in place with bit of fuel pipe) to cowling bolt. Found it slower to react on cowling bolt so swapping back to plug when I get chance.

Run mine on both TS230s over the spark plug held down by a grommet, & then fit suppressor cap
