Hi All, been deliberating but thought I'd float this. Just rebuilding the gearbox end of a motor and putting in new MB strengthened layshaft. Whilst at it was thinking of changing out gearbox from the current Italian GP 200 to look at alternatives. Thinking maybe AF 5 speed, maybe AF close ratio or even SIL GP 200 4 speed. Wondered what opinions were from people's experiences. I prefer a router that can still have it in town. It's aTS1 ….230mm

my choice would be 5speed af, followed by 4 speed close ratio, then sil gp 200 in that order, I am just saving up for a 5 speed, was in there on Saturday and they have had no breakages reported since they did the upgrade

i've changed out all of mine to the AF 4 speeds as on 1 225 and 2 230's transformed the gearing for the 3 of them.Only had 1 issue where i ripped the gear cluster on one but fitted a new one in and so far no problems.Would go 5 speeds in them if i had the cashflow but as a 2nd choice it's my prefered one.
the man don't give a f@@k

Just changing things out today, found a new GP 200 Indian box and have it in another bike so might try that in this. It's a TS1 230

your other option is to buy a rayspeed close ratio cluster and first and second gear and use your gp200 3rd and 4th to make up the full set, a good improvement over the standard gp200
