Yeah i shall give that a go.
I have connected up the back light, cdi and regulator. The brake light switch is awaiting fitting when i fit the brake pedal.
After the leg shields are refitted.
I have a spark when i kick it over.

It seems like the only difference between your light switch and a series 2 Italian light switch is,on Italian switches they have a purple wire were yours has a green wire.Dont forget the earth wire from the bulb holder.

Was there an issue with the switch then?

To be honest electrics arent my strong point.
On saying that neither are lambrettas....
I wasnt sure of the way the switch worked.
It also had some wires apparently for if running a battery.
Ben put his ammeter on it and discovered it was working but not as he expected.
He joined some wires together to provide a feeds for horn and speedo. Also blanked off two wires not needed.
I have it all wired up now.
But have never run the engine as of yet. So unable to test it.
When offering up the headlight...the festoon bulb if upwards seems to be in amongst a tangle of wires.
Can the housing be used with the festoon bulb downwards.
Ive tried moving the wires but it still gets caught in them.

To be honest i have never restored a s2 eibar lambretta from scratch before. So i find myself scouring the internet for answers and help.
I am also a worrysome thing. Always unsure if what im doing is correct.
So its a long drawn outprocess for me.
Also time is not always plentiful as i am always busy with work.

Ah never realised / thought about the high beam shining upwards.
Been racking my brain this morning as to what the festoon bulb is for.
The only thing i can think of is to light the gem that goes in the headset top.
The reflector has no cutout in it so it cannot be seen from the front. Well i dont think it can.

If you have a copy of "Sticky's complete spanners manual" in the second edition theres a picture of the headset of a series 2 on page 231 and the bulb stops short of the wiring
