A mate has broken down in France near Saumur on The Loire (West of Tours and south of Le Mans). His cdi unit has packed up. They have changed the stator and tried a cdi off a running scooter and that gives him a spark. Does anyone have any friends/contacts in this area that can help? If you do please TEXT me on 07946657899 i’m In the uk. We are arranging one to be sent which might take a couple of days. Thanks.

I understand from the French that some Frenchies have made contact, which is good/nice support whether the issue is resolved or not :)

Good to be part of this international scooter community :)

All sorted and up and running Adam. Christian Dorat was particularly helpful and he sourced a new cdi 100 miles away. Local Lambretta dealers didn’t have any 🤔........However that nice Mr Corrado of justlambretta persuaded postman pat to make a special delivery and a new one arrived this morning in 48 hours.

It wasn’t a standard CDI it was a reedspeed lukass, lasted one trip to France 🇫🇷
TS1 and PX stay in the garage (future barn finds) out on the GTS 300 when I go out on a scooter.
I know I’ll get there and back

Hmmm, that's not great to hear, especially as I'm running one of these CDIs on my bike. It has been faultless to date.

Do we know for certain both the stator and Lukas CDI had failed? Was the Lukas CDI tried with the second stator? I've had a SIL type stator fail, when one of the lighting coils was making contact to the base, which would stop a Lukas from working but this should be resolved by fitting a replacement stator.

I'm glad that the situation is resolved :)

I believe all combinations were tested even removing a working cdi from a running Vespa.
CORRECTION......the part arrived in 24 hours...😎
