Hi All,
I have been doing further bits to the scooter - this time a replacement for the shock absorber. However, I have encountered a strange issue. The eye of the shock top and bottom wont fit onto the studs/lugs as the eye is too small to fit onto the lug. When I measured the two the difference is approx 1-1.5mm out (i.e. The eye hole is 18.5mm and the stud looks approx 20mm (so it will never fit even with grease!).
I spoke to the supplier of the shock and he had a similar issue not long ago where a shock wouldn't fit the lug on a particular scooter but fitted on others fine. Has anyone else encountered something like this before and what did you do about it?
I have thought about getting a step drill bit and making it slightly larger so it fits. Good idea or bad?

No that's the odd thing. The actual lugs are in good shape, no rush. Just a bit big....
Cheers may try a diffrent piston, reed valve would work i think but would need a piston with holes in it i think

I've had it the other way with fitting a new Indian Escort shock there was too much slack in bush sleeve to lugs resulting in massive vibes through whole scoot felt like engine mounts had gone!!!!!!!!!!
