put a post up earlier about high compression on this mugello 186 engine,
so finally got to take it apart,so first job i thought would see what squish is,so poked some 3mm solder through the spark plug hole, piston didnt even hit it.
engine has a 110 conrod,so you would think it would have a 3mm packer,it has a 3mm and a 2mm fitted.
took the head off and at tdc the piston is 5.25mm below the gasket face
the head has a 1mm spigot which goes into the bore
at bdc the piston is 1.5mm below transfers
so tried it with the 2mm packer out leaving in the 3mm and piston nearly flush with top of barrel but at bdc piston is halfway over transfers???
had a old sil 150 barrell and piston laying about so fitted this and everything lined up perfect.
now the bike did run with a franspeed race and 30mm dellorto but wasnt right and had to put choke on to get it to ride
piston is a mugello 39mm deck height
could it be a barrel modified for a suzuki piston,

Hi

Have you tried the Mugello performance page on faceache mate?
