I prefer li150 good for all set ups my rb200 is standard 46x15 and revs out lovely my ts230 is 46x16 4.9 and works real nice I remember when the avant came out and a few were on 4.6 46x17 and ran well I think Mick 1 on here has experience he will no doubt pop on with further ideas good luck

.......and here i am :)

I use an Indian GP200 gearbox, 46 crown and 19 front and it's done 15k miles with no gearbox issues.

The choice of the gearbox is a major factor in which exhaust you intend to use so bare that in mind.

I used a Ron Moss clubman and it pulled 4.6 ( 20T front) no problem. I kept the same gearing and it also pulled 4.6 with a Franspeed tourer (not the Super-Tourer). I tried the same gearing with a Franspeed Race and it struggled so i changed to 4.8 and it's ok...ish, still doesn't like lots of hills but i think that's the nature of the race exhaust.

With the GP 200 gearing and running 46/19 i do a lot of hill miles in 3rd and the gearbox handles it fine.

I'm considering one of the AF 5 speed boxes but waiting for the issues to be resolved first.

Let us know how you get on.

I would always pick the af close ratio box, it’s based on an Indian gp 200 4th and 3rd gear but it uses a Spanish second and a long first gear, end result is 4 gears very close together and very nice to ride as no big jump between them, your final drive ratio is limited by your choice of exhaust and sometimes a bit of trial and error is sometimes needed , you might have to slip the clutch a bit when moving off but great performance after you have moved away and not big money, I’m fitting one in my latest build, plus you can buy spare parts for them.
