i would try making the slot for the peg longer and see if that helps, it could just be a badly made piston and a bad shaft, combined making it worse, or maybe just buy a better piston and new spring, and try them all together, ive heard of this problem before and known a new shaft fix it, lets face it the kickstart design is not very efficient on a lambretta and has to be very good to work perfectly, check the peg is not hitting the engine casing as well, they can be to long, i had some problems with my kickstart on my rotax and a new casa shaft and piston fitted perfectly, but they are not cheap.
