Hmm...

I have just replaced a wonky rear brake cam and fit new newfren pads and now it's binding.

I can turn the the hub by hand but it's stiff.

Are these pads a little thicker?

I could tell that the cam was a bit thicker than the one it replaced but I thought that it was because the old one was worn.

Ok, thats sort of good news.

Means that I might not have to find, yet another new cam.

If you've replaced the cam, have you replaced it with the correct one ?There are three different types of cam,if you've replaced it with the wrong one that may be your problem.

I replaced it with a SIL Indian GP cam.

I am running GP pads and the wavy gp clip.

I have another set of pads so I can try those first, then see how that goes.

Sorted now.

I measured the Newfren pads and a set of Makino and they are the same thicknes.

My cam was the same thickness too.

Swapped the pads and the binding has gone.

Looking at the Newfren, the brake pads are a little longer on the shoe and the wear marks from me turning the hub are on the trailing (last cm) of the brake pad.

I think if I remove that cm, that I could use them but for now the indian Makino are staying. I hope they work ok, the Newfren look cooler with the tread pattern.. haha.
