Jet 200 petrol tanks

As in the plastic ones, are they no more? Can't seem to see anywhere selling them.

I’m sure they still sell them. They look the best, if you need one.

They are still around. They popped up on FB recently, so they've obviously still got an interest in them. It's a pity the tanks aren't handed really. They must waste quite a bit of capacity with both cut outs. I asked them about it and they said it was just too expensive to do two sets of molds.

I thought plastic/fibre glass had been made illegal because of the fire risk.

I think there was a fad for fibreglass tanks in the early 70's, but they were rapidly outlawed. Which is right, if you think about it. Fibreglass is brittle and not meant to withstand heavy impacts. The Jet 200 tanks are a completely different material though. More akin to the flexible plastics used on cars.

Most of the modern day "scooters" have plastic tanks.......probably safer than metal (no chance of sparks).
