I hadn't found this before, but I see SIP are selling M7 versions of Nord Lock washers. Anyone tried these on an gearbox endplate yet? There's no question on their ability with regards to vibration, but does their thickness cause a problem in this area?

Split lock washers and a torque wrench works great. So far I haven't needed to use a nord lock washer or loctite on any part as long as the correct torque setting is used.
For clearance you should be fine. They are not excessively thick and there is a fair amount of room there.
