Dellorto carb reducer fitting

Can someone tell me the easiest way to fit a new plastic carb reducer to a Dellorto 2/22 carb please

Ive tried everything I can think of and cant get it to go in

It should just push in,with a little persuation,when you have the old one out.What I did the last time I fit one,I put the reduction sleeve on the manifold and knocked the carb on with a mallet.

I tried some from one source and... not a chance of fitting it!!!!

I ended up then buying one from Scootopia, as made for their 22mm Dellorto copy and ... BINGO! Correct size and fit.

You could try heating it in boiling water, that'll make it go all floppy and should be easy to fit..

If it is anything like the first one I bought, no way you'll get it fitted to a genuine Dellorto. Without doubt, the insert would have need to be reduced in size before it would fit.

Ive got a scootopia one now, going to try inserting it using a vice and some wood to protect the carb

Went in a treat using a vice, have fitted the Scootopia carb today, its replaced a Jetex and I have to say so far its transformed the running of my GP :D

Well done for getting it sorted.
