Exhaust joint sealant ?

I've got black crud sprayed up my side panel from the slip joint near the end can on my exhaust (Chiselspeed CST 3) .
Is Locktite 5920 or similar the solution or is cheapo bathroom silicone just as good ?
All suggestions welcome !

you can use oven silicone sealant
