Hi,
A friend of mine adjusted his kick start ramp the day before the Hayling Rally, whilst the casing was off he checked the tension of the chain, which was fine (about 6mm of lift). On return from the rally, there was a noise inside the casing ,so quick strip down revealed the chain had streatched that much it was running on the bottom of the casing (no bottom chain guide used,MB top tensioner used). His gearing is sx200,using 48 crown wheel and 15 front. Mileage covered There and back total 168 miles.
I was thinking sprockets out of alignment but would it streatched that far in such a short distance ?
Any thoughts ?

I've had issues with Rolon chains, which once replaced by something half decent gave no further issue.

Definitely IWIS chains - no noticeable stretch on my TS motors.
Fitted a mec recently but not enough miles yet to strip and check.
I've got plenty of rolon than I've remove from SIL motors

"Stretch" is a bit of a misnomer, that's wear that you're seeing. My experience of Rolon is that they do wear ("stretch") badly (and shed rollers sometimes). I use Japanese Tsubaki chains which work well in my motors.

^... "and shed rollers sometimes", mine too. IMO these should be a 'get me home' spare and possible Sunday rideout chain.
