I've just put a tsr evo on my monza running a phbh ive got a 138 main av268 atomiser x2 needle 55 idle and 50 slide. It bogs at 1/4 to just shy of 3/4 throttle. I'm not really used to setting up carbs with needles so would moving the clip up on the needle lean out the mid range or can anyone else suggest an alternative jetting
Try with a AV266 and X13

Lifting a needle (moving the circlip down) with richen the jetting, lowering (moving the clip up) will weaken.
As with any jetting alterations check plug and do one change at a time.

I mean moving the clip to the next notch (moving the needle into the atomiser) I'll try with a av266 first as I've got one spare, do the jets sound about right? It originally had a 135 main but thought I'd see if the 138 would make it bog and it hasn't so I've left it in

You haven't said wether you mean moving the clip up or down (moving the clip up the mixture wil be leaner, moving it down it will be richer) and you haven't said what size phbh carb you have.Bensmith225 wrote:I mean moving the clip to the next notch

It's a 30mm and if you look at the first post I said moving it up, then I clarified I meant move the clip to the next notch (making it leaner) I understand how the needle works just not how much affect it's going to have when moving it

Swapped to the av266 and it's a million times better, and judging by the link you just posted I'm not far off at all on my jetting even though my chat seems to be running hotter it bogs in every throttle position if I use my bar mounted choke
