I have two anodised oil plugs, one red and one black, both of them leak like mad. Have tried new seals under them and just trying them with no seal just the little metal washer that they come with, but no difference, oil dripping down my casing. Put the old original type plug in and no leak whatsoever. Anyone else had this?

That sounds very disappointing, because there does seem to be a need for a replacement.

A mate had the original style magnetic oil plug fall apart, which jammed and broke his gear box, which twisted his crank and wrecked his TS1 barrel. Hard to believe that it could do so much damage.

I think there is more than one type of admonished plug on the market. Do you recall where yours came from?

Try using Dowty washers they are aluminium with a rubber seal incorporated.

Rubber O ring instead of a washer and if that doesn't do it try a little silicone sealant around the top of the thread. Is this the breather? it could be oil blowing out of the breather hole?

Thanks for suggestions - will try with a rubber seal. Weird how two leak on mine - both from different places too - one JPP and other from Chiggy. Might take the breather filter out of each and check they are both clear.

Some, usually the Indian GP ones, don't have a baffle inside, just wire wool.

Yeah I've had the same problem, leaked oil over the top and side of my casings. Changed to a standard one and it's been fine since.

Just blow through them, that'll soon tell you if they are clear.
