Hey,
I've got a GT200, 85% of my riding is in a city so pretty much constant changing of throttle. I'm curious what's the limit of the expected mileage I put can safely put on petals without fear of breaking, and then I can back off some for safety margin. If these are based on a cart, I'm guessing designed for on / off rather than constant change .
I'm looking for someone with evidence rather than opinion. Has anyone have a set break? At what mileage and riding type.
Thanks in advance
David

If you double the petals up they last a long time
I've just changed petals in my GT250 from new.. over 2 years ago, many 1000"s of miles, they hadn't broke, I just felt it was time for new ones.

Did doubling the petals change the performance or flow in any way that would impact jetting?eden wrote:If you double the petals up they last a long time

Sorry for drip feeding questions. I'm in Canada so I don't have easy access to parts as I would like. Do you know if the petal has a part number that can be generically sourced from a racing parts shop?

I'm pretty certain the reed block is a generic kart part. I remember reading years back that Richard had used a kart part. I think this is the reed block and gaskets, but it may be wise to take photos and measurements and contact a kart shop in Canada.

My petals are replaced at the same time as the piston rings, approx. 3-4k miles, even though they probably have plenty of life left in them (and keep the old as spares), but I also double up
