Evening all, I have been busy with the dremmel making some room in my casing to accommodate a 110 x 60 crank. I have fitted the crank and it is spinning freely - I am just wondering now if there needs to be a specific amount of clearance for the end of the con rod - or is the fact that it is clearing the casing enough? The fact that I can't in in to the casing means it is very difficult to judge how much I have removed and how much clearance there is. As I say it's clearing the casing so am i good to go???
Many thanks
Clearance for 110 x 60 ???

I thought as much - I wouldn't imagine that the con-rod expands so I think I'm good to go and get it rebuilt.Norrie Bodge wrote:ive had to do this twice on casings m8...

Thanks Norrie

You need to for some 60mm's - the one I bought definitely needed trenching as it was jamming solid. All good now though - just been out for a spin on her and the difference is fantastic - much smoothercoaster wrote:I was under the impression that you only needed to 'trench' the crankcase for a 62mm stroke crank I relieved mine for a 110x62 GT crank and it didn't need much, probably 1mm.

I fitted a gran tourismo 60 stroke recently , didn't have to touch the casing ,
I've just done 2 110x60 recently, the more expensive crank with the Yamaha rod didn't need the case modified but the slightly cheaper one did.
I did consider grinding the big end of the rod down a bit but decided it was made that size for a reason and got the casing machined out.
