This is the 63 li150 I got for free. Some idiot left it outside for years. Soaked inside crank area with kroll oil 24 hrs. Crank is shot anyway. I cut the con rod off with a Dremel cut off wheel carefully. Then on the opposite side jammed a wedge in to make the crank evenly solid. The crank is now my drift. Spun it to ensure nothing with catch. Put a small flat bottom 10mm socket on the top of the crank shaft and dropped a screw in it so it stayed in place. This way I would not deform the the teeth and stop it from passing through the bearing. I heated the case hot with map gas and kept heating as I tapped the crank through with a 3lb hammer. Took awhile but the crank pushed the flange out and the dropped out itself. Would of been easier with a second set of hands. And yes I tried the easier things first.
My cylinder studs are frozen in solid as is one case stud. I'm battling some serious corrosion.

As you seem to have skill at predicting the future, can you pick my lottery numbers? I drilled out the peen and used a snap-on tools impact driver. One came off. The other 3 just started to deform. What to do? Heat and keep using the impact driver? Go all around the edge of the screw with a drill bit?coaster wrote:Good luck with those retaining plate screws

If you have access to a welder I'd be inclined to find some old 1/4 sockets and with a grinder clean off any chrome then weld the socket to the head of the screw and undo with an extension bar and socket wrench, doing it this way you have the added advantage of heating the screw up at the same time.

That's a clever idea. I've got a friend who welds. I could take a long 6mm Allen key (or thicker) cut it into 3 sections, and have them welded on top of the screws. I beat one last year that was about as bad as that. Don't throw it away. I drilled and tapped mine. Built a lovely motor from it.
