Quite a few brands are made there now, but Koyo are made in Japan.

However I've seen fake Koyos which say made in India....bit of a giveaway really. Lol.

I once got my hands on a 'Koyo' rear hub bearing and so gave it to the Koyo rep and asked if I could order some. He spoke to Koyo Europe and Japan....and confirmed they didn't make a Koyo bearing in that size/dimension and it was a fake.

SKF are made in lots of countries throughout the world, but with their quality control their all supposed to be made to the same spec.

I used to work in high volume manufacture globally and in my experience quality control does vary despite all sites having the same paperwork, often it's manipulated or simply misunderstood so that there are variations between the same product from the same manufacturer but from different facilities.

I didn't work for SKF though. So maybe they're an exception.

Ive had a Koyo drive bearing fail after less than 1000 miles, that's why I don't use them anymore.

I've recently had a SKF drive bearing fail so the only brand still going is FAG. If all brand fail where should we go next for bearings? I thought Koyo were the best ever.
