Hi all .. when i turn the key to the off position it doesnt kill the engine ? ive had the headset off and had a good look at the ignition switch wires and checked the earths etc and all seems to be ok ?? any ideas on where else the problem may lie ??

Connect a wire with a crocodile clip to a good earth and then tap the other end of it to the terminal on your coil/CDI that has the green wires on it. That will stop it. Check that the green from the loom has not become disconnected at your coil/CDI. If you can stop it now tap your piece of earthed wire on to the green at the other end of the loom in the headset. That will prove things one way or another.
check cdi first, most likely green wire off

Obviously you have 2 ends 2 your green one at the CDI and one at the headset with your ignition switch then connected to that and the switch earthing it out. What ever you do don't touch any of the greens whith the bike running. It won't kill but it sure as hell wake you up. My call says it will be the switch. A meter would take out the guess work
