Be interesting to see the new Uni Auto ones as well. For those of us who prefer a more standard sort of engine.

Whoever makes them. No requirement for engine numbers to be unique AFAIK.garry inglis wrote:sounds great but what about engine numbers and who defines the numbers

the cases are going to be numbered, with prefix and suffix relating to certain variables.garry inglis wrote:sounds great but what about engine numbers and who defines the numbers
Some numbers have already been claimed, if you want a certain number on your GT case Pm me and ill get it earmarked for you

The DVLA don't care about numbers on engine cases. You just write "not stated" on the log book. I've had a replacement Indian Lambretta engine and a new PX casing. Neither had number.
Meus Lambretta est non infractus. Is est quietus.

Can't guarantee it's still the case, but when I worked for an engine re-conditioner, engines like the old BMC A series had the engine number riveted on the top deck of the block - this had to be removed for machining. We re-stamped the block with our phone number + the number we had got to.
No mention or record of the old number was made.
Great to hear that an increasing range of parts is becoming available at more affordable prices.
Well done RichT.

I have put my name down for the Intercontinental engine block

Do they have any additional room for 5 speeds? . So we now have 3 new engine cases, this one the missano and the other 305 whose name i cant remembed. This does seem a lot cheaper than the others though.
