This happened again about 100yds later but more severe,so slowed down,and drifted into the hard shoulder and stopped just as the back end slewed sideways.......lucky me!!
Obviously a rear tyre blow out,not something I have had any real experience of as in my 35 years of scootering I can only recall having a 'moving' puncture on two occasions!!
Anyway,tools out,panel off,and this is what greeted me.........
Now,not really having used my scooter much since the end of last September,nothing rang any bells when I checked it over before starting to use it again,so obviously the state of the tyre came as a bit of a shock!
So,wheel changed,and on my way,got home,and checked the front tyre(as it was the same brand,and were both fitted at the same time),and couldn't see any problem,so was happy to leave fitted.
Come the following week,back and forth to work again,no problems until the journey home on Thursday.
Luckily past the dual carriageway section of my journey I felt a slight wobble at the front end,so whilst waiting at the traffic lights,quickly checked the front tyre for loss of pressure,buy found nothing unusual. The wobble still there,i finished my journey at 'granny speed' and got home safely.
On having a 'proper' inspection,i found this........
I think I have been extremely lucky,and now have 'tyre paranoia'.
