I have just returned from the petrol station and realised that I have put super unleaded 98 ron in instead of normal 95 Ron. It's a standard tv 175 rebuilt about 300 miles ago engine. Could this cause a problem?

A lot of us will want to tell you that you should always be using highest octane you can find. In my opinion unless your timing has been deliberately retarded then you should steer clear of 95 octane. Others are going to disagree but higher octane petrol is less likely to pink (pre ignite) and cause damage.
My advice: always 97 or 98.
