Hi mates! I just bought a Rapido race 225 barrel and an AF race crankshaft and I´ve got an Italian LI150 gearbox. I was thinking to use this barrel with a JL3 pipe to get a touring engine. Which Crank Sprocket, Clutch Bell Sprocket and chain should I use? I was thinking to use a 30mm carburator but not sure.

I know about scooterhelp gearing calculator but I prefer to know about people setups and knowledge. Thank you to all and congratulations for the new forum ;)

The race rapido can be very peaky, so i'd stick with 15/46 if you want an all rounder, although if your mate is very light he might get away with 16/46.

I have a RACE Rapido mit JL4 and TMX35.

I use 18x47 on italian GP200 gearing. There is a bigger jump from 3rd to 4th then on the indian GP200.
If you like the revy kind of riding you also can use the AF close ratio box.

Did you have the engine on a dyno, can you post the graph. Which timings of exhaust, transfers and inlet do you have ?

Cheers

Hi! The engine is not built yet, so no dyno graphs or anything. Im looking for some advice with the 150 Li gearbox. I have read that is one of the best gearbox for a Rapido but not sure about that. Does someone use this gearbox? What about the 35 TMX carburator? Do I nee something up to 30mm? Thankx.

my Rapido 225 Race works very good with the TMX35, but you can also use a 30mm carb, I would recommend MIKUNI not Dellortos.

Can you tell us something about your timings? can you messure them ??

Sorry, the barrel is not at the wokbench already, just waiting for it  But anyway Im not thinking to modify it, I will probably use it standard, as it is. Im new on lambrettas, I need a couple of years of knowledge

the LI 150 gearbox is fine, your only decision will be what front sprocket too use,ie.15 or 16,the bike may have too be built and ridden before you can decide this ultimatly in my view
