There are a few tricks to getting more air in.

Remove air scoop restrictor
remove air box bellow/bladder
drill holes or punch louvers in air box
run a high flow mesh filter

all of them work okay. Have to keep in mind that the stock air box was not meant to flow a lot of air.

I put a standard air filer/box set up on a flow bench to see what we could do to improve the flow. We found out that a lot of the flow restriction came from the elbow that connects to the rubber boot. In the end I just removed the whole box and ran a remote filter.

Try the BGM air filter. It's a wire mesh basically, and as far as I can tell very little restriction.

If your not using a cheap Indian Steel Bird filter element, but an Italian one,try changing to the Indian one because they let more air in due to the fact that they have a covering of wire mesh,Italian filters have a covering of steel drilled with holes and they are a lot more restrictive.

If you really need a drastic increase in air then I'm with Grumpy225.

Better fitting a small foam filter directly onto the carb than trying to overcome all the other bottlenecks.
