asking the same question on the LCGB forum I think my barrel is geared up for a standard 107 rod without packers though I don't know if the piston needs any work. Paul

That, in itself, is an interesting point. I run a very similar setup and find the 125 main to be too rich. It baffles me that some can run them and others can't. I suppose my riding might be considered sedate by some, so you can help me out with this. Is your own style faster, or more agressive? That's the only way you could keep a 125 clean it seems to me.

122 it nipped up and I nearly threw the towel in with it. The plug chops looked good at 122 and there were no air leaks.
I’ve using an Indian drilled air box but still got the filter on, so there’s plenty of air getting in, so that might be the reason why it needs the 125. I’ve normally found that bigger exhausts need bigger main jets but I’ve a lovely standard exhaust on. Bigger crank may be sucking more fuel in, it’s 60x115 but I don’t know the physics exactly.

200 slide, 45-48 pilot, GP150 # 5899-4 slide, 135'ish main (all Dellorto). Depending on what was done to the head, 17-19 degrees btdc.

Good luck.

Thanks, running great on the 125 main jet, full throttle for 7 miles and no heat rise. Running closer to 20 BTDC as I’m not high in a rev band. Right head bought from Chesilspeed.
I have tried to copy my standard TV175 build with some slight improvements to push me into the wind and hills a bit better and it’s worked well.

Ended up going to 128 then 130 main jet on a longer run.
I have found that running standard 20mm and 22mm carbs on small block ‘175’ kits, the main jetting can go high, 20mm I have had 116 main jet and this 22mm up to 130. Seems strange when you think of SX200’s 20mm carbs having main jet of 103 and GP200’’s running a 118 on a 22mm carb.

Not the same carb but the principal is the same.I run a Casa 185 with a PHBL 25 carb,it runs a 47 pilot jet,a 98 main jet, an AQ268 atomiser and a D29 needle with the clip on the top groove.I also run a Casa 210(big brother to the 185) on a different scooter. All the same jets and atomiser but it runs a weeker needle,a D28 on the second groove down, both run through the filter box with a standard filter and both use the same kind of Clubman exhaust.. :?:
