dellorto slides, which way does it go? 30 weak, 60 rich or other way round?

bugger,just bought a 25phbl with a 30 slide,how can you tell its richness off tickover is the slide or the pilot jet?

I think if you put it on a flat surface the height of the out board cut away in 1/10s of a mm is the slide number,
Higher the number, lets more air in = weaker

You can carefully file the cutaway to make it weaker. I've always assumed you increase the angle, not just file parallel to the original cutaway. This extra hassle may not be necessary?
Or machine off (if you're good you may getaway with a file here too) a small amount from the bottom to make it richer, but you can only go so far, and the result needs to be flat and parallel to the old lower edge.
A little metal removal can have a bigger effect than expected.
I haven't bought any for years, but slides were quite expensive...
