new rear hub bearing space between hub and flange normal

Finally started engine rebuild . Fitted new rear hub bearing and after fitting the thin spacer and outer flange and torquing correctly there is a small gap between the spacer/flange and the hub as per pictures attached Just want to check if this is acceptable/ normal before I continue,

I think the bearing should sit proud of the casing so you would expect a small gap as you have.

I have asked the same question,and it appears the gap is correct.No idea why,seems daft to me,but thats the way it is.
Make sure you torque the nuts to the correct value,or you will bend the plate.
