Actually, it was the correct port, but I had the manifold pointing in the wrong direction.

I matched my tiny weeny manifold to the carb and cylinder port.

I tried to build the top end today but the new small end bearing is too wide for the piston. Looking at what I took out yesterday that bearing is narrower and accompanied by shims but its still a hair too wide to fit in the piston.

Looks like I have to fettle a little.

Started re-build.

I dont trust the way my scoot has been thrown together. 2 questions.

Wavy washer on the front sprocket, should that be resting against the oil thrower or outside the sprocket under the big washer?

Should there be a retaining tab on the clutch basket?

Can you lap the small end bearing on emery each end to get some clearance? The wavy washer or spring washer is for the sprocket bolt and there should be a clutch wavy washer instead of locktab.

Thanks for the reply.

I have bought a new little end bearing and that is wider than the one that was in it. The original fits in the piston, its the piston shims that don`t (these could be un-original items? )

The new bearing wont fit in the piston but I could lap it to get it to fit.

I`m trying to find an exploded lui engine diagram on the internet without much luck.

Perfert!!

Thanks. That helps. I wonder if my little end bearing and shims is unoriginal, used from something else.

Can I ask what book this is Thackers?

ARRGGHH!

Right, after what feels like ages waiting for parts they finaly arived this evening.

I have installed new bearings in the endplate and had a go at installing the gearbox.

The gear cluster I bought is way to big to fit with my loose gears. On the Rimini lambretta page it states that these fit perfectly with original lui gearbox 58-53-46...

That is all well and done but for some reason the smallest cog on my motor is a 51 in conjuction with 17 teeth on the cluster.

Any Idea where I can get a gear cluster that will fit, or even a "normal" Lui box?

My layshaft is fine, its my gear cluster that is fecked.

I`m just a bit confused as to what gearbox I realy have, and if a normal lui cluster will fit.

There is a guy selling a J125 engine 3 gear (doesnt look like a starstream) on norwegian buy sell site without papers, do these fit in Vega`s?
