As it says, thanks for everyone's help and of course Sticky's wonderful book, I have finally finished my first ever engine build. Using a casing purchased from Scooterotica I have put together a TS1-225 and I think it looks the biz. I've followed the book to the letter, made a couple of mistakes (one rather costly, but hey ho!), everything is loctighted down and tolerances adhered too, gearbox is moving nice and smooth, just the squish to check and she'll be ready to fire up :D

Again, many thanks for everyone's help. Can't wait to fit her and fire her up......has anyone got any jetting suggestions for a 30mm Delly and Jl3 pipe ;)

It may just be the light on the photo, but it looks like you haven't fitted a flywheel nut.

Pressure test before fitting would be a good thing, I've had several leak on the inlet manifolds with the gaskets they supply nowadays.

I'm going to get a tyre inner tube from Halfords and try that method :)

Can doing a pressure test cause problems if the cylinder to head gasket doesn't leak under the test situation (max pressure 7psi) but when running it begins to leak because the pressure in the cylinder head combustion chamber is much higher ?
