I reckon you may be running with too much retard. try a different setting. I use number 7.

I see what your saying,
Thing is,it's at low revs it's,s**t.So surely that's going to be fairly advanced.??

Have you strobed your timing ?

Might be worth checking then have a play around with the settings.


I do tend agree that the flatsides help to clean up the bottom end......I fitted a Mikuni TMX 35 and was very pleased with the difference it made.

Yes I strobed up the timing,bgm stator and due to the slots the max advance I could get was 23.
On setting b revving all buggery out of it,the most retard I could see was 16 degrees.

What inlet did you use on the Mikuni?

I used the larger AF manifold (bigger than the PHBH ones), used for the Dellorto 34mm and some Amals (I think ?)
