ok out of decent pistons for my tv175 so am thinking of using a suzuki ts185 piston, i believe all i need do is use a 2mm packing plate but does the head need reprofiling and if so who does this, a rough cost and what should the piston to bore clearance be?

A few SR 175 pistons here which might save you a rebore, don't know what size you're on now but some oversizes still available. Think you may need a packer still as they're not same as TV pistons, But they are wire rings and reasonably priced.

Failing that Grampian motors in Liverpool for a Mitaka TS185 piston, they are the official Mitaka agents I think.

I've not long done one..I used a 25 quid khc piston off eBay.I gave it 0.003 thou clearance and used a 2mm packer that's with the TV rod.the head will need a reprofile to suit the flatter piston crown,I did my own so not sure on cost.

Pretty much any of the tuning guys can sort your head out. You could send it off to anyone I guess.
Harry Barlow (ProPorting) in Leicester did mine, can't remember the cost but was something like £20.
MB also do it - see the following link - http://www.lambrettaspares.com/spares/c ... ab016.html

I'm currently selling a Mitaka one on ebay... currently at a very modest 99p... ;)
