Hi

Is anyone running an AF cast iron 175 kit on a series 2 with a 20mil dellorto, standard air box and pipe?

Any ideas on carb jetting?

Cheers

Dan

I'd be inclined to jet as per TV200 and go fractionally up/ down from there, but......

just a thought about your air intake scoop under the seats- what sort is on there first?

It's the standard scoop and early type airbox. It's got a fast flow tap and air filter

I'm a series 3 bloke so not too sure which scoop you've got- I know some were really restrictive.

To be safe I'd be inclined to run it without the scoop initially- and yes, I'd run TV200 jetting as the only real difference is the size of the main jet (TV200= 108; TV175= 106), and the starter (TV200= 48; TV175= 50)

You MAY find the whole intake system is restrictive compared with a S3 set up.

Run it and see how it goes subject to plug colour/ chops etc

Why would you go for tv200 jetting on a 175 kit? (I'm a bit clueless when it comes to jetting)

I've been advised to dremmel out the airbox and scoop to open them up but haven't as yet.

It's a standard s2 tv175 exhaust also.

if its a genuine AF kit then its had a bit of a tune- consequently it should perform better than "other" 175 conversion kits -some of which produce actually less power than a standard 150!). I would prefer to start slightly "rich" (i.e. the 108 main) then work down to a 106 if required- in reality there will be very little noticeable difference.

I've removed a few "swan necks" on standard airboxes (S3's) and it does help it breath (IMO!!).

If it was myself, I'd be inclined to replace the standard S2 exhaust, with a quality "Clubman" and then definately jet as TV200.

Anyone else out there got any views on this set up?

I've ordered the bits. The experiment continues!

Any views on the s2 style clubman as I'd like to keep it looking standard from the outside
