Guys whats your opions on these two kits.
I've been looking at he BGM kit using a 110 rod and the Mugello 225 using 116 rod.
I'm unsure of which one to go for and if theres even any differance in the performance ill get.
Just wanted to get your thoughts

One thing to bear in mind is that you'll always have difficulty or certainly lack of choice, going the 116 rod route.
I'd have thought that Mr B would supply a BGM kit to suit a 116 rod if you asked. They list a suitable piston.

From my experience I think the RT is more likely to fit straight out of the box - port heights on some Mugellos I've seen have been a little inconsistent. I like the RT 4-stud exhaust fitting and greater number of head fixings too.

If you aren't set on piston port though, don't discount the Gran Turismo 200 kit. Fuel economy on the GT and RT are both good (50-60 mpg with a 28-30mm carb). I have no experience with the Mugello but lots love them when they are set up right.

I have both of them installed on several big blocks.

Config Variations
Keihin PWK 28 on the BGM
DellOrto PHBH 30 on the Mugello
MecEur 58x110 on the Mugello
BGM 60x110 Crankshaft on the BGM-RT
Same Filter, crankshaft, flywheel and exhaust.
Kitronik-SB on both
Same gearbox ratio too

Best....... BGM-RT 225 in my opinion:
- Easier to fit (I had to machine the mugello cylinder to get the propper squish clearance on a spanish casing... too much clearance even removing the top gasket)
- More power: BGM
- Less fuel consumption: BGM
- Less vibrations: BGM
- Same price

I bought the Mugello on 2012 :(

Interested in any othe people's opinions!

I had a mugello and was far from impressed. As Sticky said the ports were all over the place and had to use extra cash getting it sorted out.
And the "revised" exhaust port with the exhaust gasket face an extra 10mm away from the piston skirt made getting an exhaust to fit a real ball ache.
I've never had an RT kit but I'd have one of them over a mugello anyday!
Slow is the new fast!

I had to put a 2,5mm base gasket to match the ports in the mugello on BDC

Thanks for the feed back guys.
If I went for the BGM, what exhaust have any of you used.
Would it run ok with a JL 3?
