Just on a ride out and GP stopped as if out of petrol, lots in and when I kick it over there's a horrendous metallic scrapping noise. Can I guess the fuckers seized and now I've damaged the engine? Stuck at the side if the road ready to ring AA again!!!
Not having much luck at all
Lately.
I get my kicks out on the floor.

:(

If it is that loud then it is often to do with the flywheel, which being more external sounds really nasty. Sorry to hear of the run of bad luck.

It kicks over once or twice then locks solid unless I put it in gear and try to move it then it kicks over again and same scenario.
Trying to push it in gear it goes a 6" or so then locks and will only go back before locking again?

Could be broken ring(s)

Could be flywheel related as Adam has suggested take the cover of and try it, make sure nothings got in there by mistake.

Could be a slack or stretched chain.

Hmm it does seem to be external, although with all the traffic noise it's hard to tell .
When I can kick it over there's no spark either!

Flywheel come loose? Sheared the key?

Is the flywheel turning when you kick it over?

I'm home now, Flywheel cover off and flywheel turns just under 1 rev then stops solid but will turn back just under 1 rev then stops solid. No sound at all when turning flywheel by hand only sound is when using kickstart.
