Video 8 was interesting where he used a digital laser temp guage (which I happen to have ) to measure EGT. I suppose you'd point it at the down pipe around 10cm. from the flange and see what temp you get. Adjust the carb to get the lowest reading at tickover and then see what temps occur at different throttle positions. What would be suggested EGT for an Avanti kit? I imagine someone out there has an EGT fitted to an Avanti by now.

I used one in late 80's
They are an old design, very simple and therefore effective.
I expect they flow well as they are popular on drag bikes and you can get really big ones (41mmm+).
Getting the right 'rod' and therefore good jetting can be tricky and work out expensive. I'd like to try one with a fancy power jet like foxhat.
Having said all that I'd be surprised if they do add much compared to a well set up modern carb.

standing mile: 118.6mph
1/4 mile: 14.04 seconds - 93mph

this one has a power jet and has been Dyno`ed t for my set up ,by Lectron .Apparently the Lectron is less susceptible to atmospherics .I hope with the air flow ratio meter everything will be kept in check .I have also bought a range of Metering rod and a few spares ,just in case
