The crank came out of a running engine. I've always replaced TV SX cranks but this is a different situation, long story. I'm shocked by the gap between the con rod and the crank web.

The side float should be in the 1.1 - 1.275 mm region, max 1.5 mm

I think the rod should be centralised by the fitting of piston shims? Were any fitted when you took it apart?

It wasn't me that took it apart but the new piston will not have any shims but I guess the new piston it's slightly wider so it should centralize. :?

I've just married up the piston to the small end and there's room for shims so I'll get some in.
